LinkedIn is a social media platform that you can use to help generate leads. It can be incredibly powerful and in this post we will help you understand how to harness it’s potential but before we do it’s important to establish one clear fact; LinkedIn is not a replacement for your website!
Social media is the perfect place to connect, build and nurture an audience but the purpose should always be, to direct traffic to your website. When your website is well designed, it can then do the selling for you!
Here are some LinkedIn tips designed to help business owners generate leads.
One of the first things you could do if you want to see results with LinkedIn, is look at your headline. For anyone unsure, the headline is the statement directly underneath your name. It is important because it follows you around LinkedIn, every time you comment or post, your headline is visible. Use this opportunity to say who you help and how you help them.
The next step is your profile. Think of it like your CV. The focus should be the same as your headline but just in more detail, your audience want to know who you help and how you help them.
Add a list of the main products or services as well as prices. You can include links so make sure you include a link to your website.
LinkedIn is the perfect place for online networking. People use it to actively make more connections and extend their existing audience. This process is very simple, you just have to prioritise sending new connection requests everyday. Start with 5 a day but If you have a premium account you can add more.
The most important aspect in this process is the people you reach out to. Before you put this strategy into place make sure you are crystal clear who your ideal client actually is. You can then use the search bar to look for the job title of the people you want to connect with.
Social media is meant to be social. Spend time everyday engaging with the content that your audience are posting. Remember these people have been added by you because they are your ideal client so as you converse with their content you are becoming known to them.
It’s vital that you share content on LinkedIn so that you can make an impression on your connections. Share content that is valuable and informative but also don’t be afraid to share snippets of your personal life. This gives them the opportunity to get to know you. People want to buy from people and LinkedIn is the perfect place to show who you are and most importantly direct them to your website.
It’s common practice on LinkedIn to send personal messages to all new connections explaining what you do and providing an opportunity to buy. There is a lot of debate around this but the reality is as the online digital evolves, so has LinkedIn and the people who use it. Cold sales messages might convert but at a very low rate. They will also alienate more people and turn them off buying in the future. Resist the urge to do this and instead focus on the points above.
Here at Aspire Shire we build and up level websites to make them convert better. Once you have a working strategy on LinkedIn you will be driving your ideal client to your website but what then?
